Sarah Vickers, who has been teaching in the industry for over 27 years, began riding at age six with Jan Pearce in Woodside, CA. She started by taking lessons and competing in as many local schooling shows as she could. Eventually as she grew older, she began riding in rated competitions, and qualifying for 3'6" equitation medal finals throughout the West Coast, as well as earning year end awards in the Jr. Hunter division. Sarah would offer to ride any horse, at any time, which gave her passion for riding much experience by the age of 18, when she turned professional.

Her love of horses and competing led her to get a Bachelor of Science in Equine Business Management/Riding from Johnson & Wales University, RI in 2000. Part of her college experience was working in Wellington, FL for an import sale barn, as well as for Marcia Kulak, a 5* Eventer, to gain a well rounded education in other aspects of the equine industry.

Sarah has since been an assistant trainer for multiple training barns throughout the Bay Area, and has competed client horses professionally in all rated Hunter divisions, as well as Jumper Divisions up to 1.40m successfully on the West Coast.

All of these experiences have given Sarah a consistent method for teaching her students, and has a great time sharing what she loves.

Vickers Equestrian was established in 2011, and has been Sarahs passion while also raising one son who is now attending High School.
